Portland, Maine (September 22, 2026) – Chalkline, Inc., developer of VisiSpecs, The Visual Specification System, is highlighting the growing value of its Building Product Manufacturer (BPM) Program through the experience of Penetron, a VisiSpecs BPM Program Charter Member.
The VisiSpecs BPM Program was created to bring building product manufacturers directly into the specification workflow, helping them collaborate with architects, engineers, and specifiers as project specifications are being developed.
As a Charter Member, Penetron has been an early participant in the program and sees significant potential in its approach to connecting manufacturers with A/E firms.
“The VisiSpecs BPM Program is cutting edge and on the cusp of becoming something special for us as manufacturers,” said Penetron Specifications Development Manager Blair Jones. “It is obvious the benefits that the A/E community gains by using the platform enabling them to research, download their specs and create new ones without the need to access other programs. Through the BPM Program, manufacturers can establish a presence within the VisiSpecs environment and make their company, product, specification, and related information readily accessible to architects, engineers, and specifiers using the platform.
The program also creates opportunities for direct collaboration through VisiSpecs Product Requests. A/E professionals can send Master or Project Specifications to participating manufacturers for review and feedback, helping verify manufacturer information, product models and descriptions, standards, testing and approvals, new or replacement products, and other specification content.
“The participation and feedback of Charter Members like Penetron have been important as we continue to grow the BPM Program,” said Chalkline COO Seamus McGrady. “Our goal is to create a better connection between manufacturers and the A/E professionals specifying their products, and to make that collaboration a natural part of the specification workflow.”
