Chalkline, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated DevOps / Cloud Engineer to manage our Microsoft Azure integrations and to improve the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of our on-premises services at customer locations.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage our REST Service utilizing Azure App Services, SQL, Storage, Networking, AFD and more.
- Improve and manage our existing disaster recovery plan.
- Design, implement, and maintain an improved testing/release process for building, testing, and deploying our applications.
- Help implement and maintain SSO access to our applications with Microsoft Entra ID and Okta Auth0.
- Establish observability (Application Insights dashboards, alerting) and reliability practices (runbooks, SLOs, incident response, root cause analysis).
- Harden platform security: identity and access (Microsoft Entra ID/OIDC), secrets management, patching, vulnerability remediation, and least privilege controls.
- Plan and execute releases across environments (dev/test/staging/production), including database changes, data migrations, and rollback strategies.
- Lead on-prem customer deployments and help create and maintain Windows installers and updates as necessary.
- Document deployment playbooks, customer installation guides, and internal procedures.
- Help maintain our SOC2 compliance by assisting with yearly security audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE or build/release engineering with hands-on Azure administration and automation.
- Proficiency with Installation/Deployment on Windows platforms.
- Experience packaging and deploying Windows desktop/server applications is a plus.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell) and practical knowledge of networking, identity, and secrets management.
- Experience with SQL Server administration and operating RESTful services (MVC/Web API) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub, Visual Studio, Vanta, and Jira, in an administrative sense is a plus.
- Ability to research complex technological problems and formulate recommendations for resolution.

Marketing Job Responsibilities:
- Work with the Chalkline team members to plan, execute, and monitor successful marketing campaigns
- Creating editorial and content for various media platforms and outlets
- Assisting with the design and delivery of social media ads and email blasts
- Producing a brand style guide that best captures the company and its products
- Helping to set, allocate, and monitor the budget of each project
- Meeting with clients to better understand the positioning and value of our products and services
- Conducting market research to determine relevant factors used in creating targeted marketing campaigns
- Reviewing the progress and success of a campaign, making recommendations for new campaigns as necessary
- Manage our participation, positioning, and delivery for industry trade shows (travel expected 2-5 times per year)
Marketing Qualifications:
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- High-quality presentation of product benefits and functionality skills
- Superior time management, scheduling, and tracking skills to ensure successful campaign management
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2 to 5 years of industry marketing experience preferred
- Familiarity with modern online marketing systems is desirable
- Familiarity with the AEC market is a plus
Sales Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Serves customers by listening to and identifying their needs and communicating solutions using our products and services.
- Identifies current and future product and customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and current customers.
- Provides product and service information by answering questions, demonstrating our products, and delivering training services.
- Establishes new accounts by identifying potential customers, planning the sales process, and organized scheduling and follow through of tasks.
- Prepares cost proposals consulting with Chalkline sales management.
- Suggests improvements by analyzing sales, technical, and marketing processes and tools.
- Communicates timely and effectively both within Chalkline as well as externally with prospects and customers.
- Develops and delivers training and technical support tools to customers and prospects optimizing their use and implementation.
- Prepares sales forecasts and technical support reports.
- Tracks prospects and customer engagements and inquiries using Chalkline CRM and other business tools.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed.
- Travel to Industry Trade Shows and for Presentations or Training Services as needed (expected 2-5 times per year).
Sales Engineer Qualifications:
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High quality presentation of product benefits and functionality skills.
- Superior negotiating skills to ensure customer’s product enhancement requests are addressed while maintaining/balancing business situations and development trade-offs are considered.
- Well-developed logical thinking, reasoning, problem-solving and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor degree with a degree in computer science, engineering or architecture preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 2 to 5 years of industry sales experience preferred.
- Familiarity with modern, online sales and service desks systems is desirable.
- Our products integrate with Microsoft Word thus advanced expertise is a plus.
- Familiarity with the AEC market is a plus.
