Chalkline Releases Major VisiSpecs Update Featuring New BPM Program

Portland, ME (October 29, 2025) – Chalkline, Inc., developer of VisiSpecs®, The Visual Specification System, has released a major update to its platform introducing the new VisiSpecs Building Product Manufacturer (BPM) Program. The update is designed to streamline how architects and engineers collaborate with manufacturers, improving specification accuracy, compliance, collaboration, and overall efficiency throughout the design process.

With over 2500 manufacturer profiles available, VisiSpecs customers have access to specification related BPM content and the ability to contact the manufacturer for more information. Architects, Engineers, and Specifiers (AES) spend hours researching through Google, commercial sites, and manufacturer sites looking for project specific information. Manufacturers in the program can add their 3 Part CSI specs as well as related files such as cut sheets, catalogs, test results, and links to BIM models. Rather than spread this data and conversations across email, phone calls, links to server and web site data, VisiSpecs centralizes this information for fast access to the latest information for use by the entire team.

At the center of the BPM Program is the new Product Request (PR) feature, which enables AES to connect directly with manufacturers from within VisiSpecs. With PRs, architects and engineers can send specification requests to multiple manufacturers simultaneously, confirm product accuracy, update standards and certifications, and validate performance requirements for specific project conditions. The update consolidates communication, centralizes feedback within project specs, and reduces the hours of time spent maintaining master and project specifications.

As Paul Marquez of Excel Dryer states, “Seeing how many leading firms use and trust VisiSpecs, we knew joining the BPM program was the right move. Setting up our profile and uploading our specs was quick and straightforward. Now, our specifications are easily accessible for projects where we want to be included.” And Isaac Sorensen of WR Meadows adds, “WR meadows is excited to be part of the VisiSpecs BPM program, which offers manufacturers and designers a streamlined and efficient platform for RFI collaboration, enhancing communication, and project workflows.”

VisiSpecs customers benefit from the program as Melissa Finch of Randall-Paulson Architects adds, “We encourage all our manufacturer reps to list their profile and specs in VisiSpecs as that is the first place we look for product information, and it saves us time having to do online searches.”

This update reinforces Chalkline’s commitment to improving efficiency and accuracy in design workflows. By enabling real-time collaboration with manufacturers, VisiSpecs ensures specifications remain consistent, complete, and aligned with the latest product data.

About Chalkline, Inc.

Chalkline is a developer of architectural and engineering specification software designed to visually document, coordinate, and verify BIM models and project specifications. VisiSpecs® is a suite of applications that includes VisiWord and VisiRevit. VisiSpecs is a software as a service (SaaS) cloud solution where its desktop and mobile applications store and access the model and specification data on the company’s cloud servers for easy access and collaboration among distributed team members. Built on familiar applications already in use by most in the market, VisiSpecs requires minimal training and setup time. Users can easily integrate their own masters and project documents with the project models to accomplish true BIM integration without learning to use complicated model applications and without a lengthy integration process. For those who do use model applications, VisiSpecs provides direct access to the project specifications and documentation. For more information, visit www.chalklineinc.com.
